Drinks With Coworkers; or, A Ballad To Make This Margarita Tax Deductible

we wait for Alex at the bar
we munch on chips for free
we order margaritas first
and end up drinking three
 
we gossip loud about our days
while tasting salsas, three!
I like the yellow one the best
and Megan likes the green
 
once all arrive we have our laughs
and alex orders food
we scan the board for weekly deals
and feel out what looks good
 
a mystery tequila shot?
that sounds a good ol' time
tequila hits my virgin tongue
I grin and bite the lime 
 
our time runs short and leave we must
we down our drinks in glugs
Miranda leaves and I with her
but not before tight hugs
